Press and Media Visits

Journalists with questions about any aspect of our Observatory and its work are welcome to contact us (staff@specola.va) or they may direct questions to individual members of staff (see the “contact page”).

If you wish to do a more formal interview, including but not limited to any recordings and photographs, you will also need to obtain permission from the Vatican City State. Prepare a document describing who you are, what use will be made of the interview and recorded materials, whom you will be interviewing, when you wish to be on site, and the names of all the crew including producers, reporters, camera operators, sound engineers, and any other people from your institution.

You should e-mail this request to:

presidenza@scv.va

and copy nicola.gori@scv.va and staff@specola.va

In case of "documentaries" you should contact the Dicastery for Communication at the link:

Note that it can take several months to obtain permission to film documentaries on Vatican territory, and the Dicastery may charge a fee for recording. Contact them for further details and requirements.
