On Friday, September 25, the Vatican Observatory took part in the Night of Science at Tor Vergata, with a stand dedicated to observing the sky and promoting astronomy.

Despite unfavorable weather conditions and occasional rain, the event welcomed more than 5,000 visitors, adults and children alike, who had the opportunity to discover the world of astronomy and scientific research. Two telescopes were used for the observations: a Celestron C5 and a Celestron 63ED, mounted side by side on a Sky-Watcher AZ-GTiX.

Observing the sky provided an opportunity to talk about the Moon, planets, and many other astronomical objects and phenomena. It was an evening dedicated to research, knowledge, and curiosity about the Universe: an opportunity to engage with visitors of all ages and discover together just how fascinating it is to explore the sky and understand the phenomena that characterize it.
